The Pill

Combination oral contraceptive (COC) pills

These pills contain both estrogen and progesterone of various doses/formulations. While very safe to use in most women, there are certain contraindications to use of these medications including, but not limited to women with increased risk of blood clots, high blood pressure, and breastfeeding. We will review your risk factors and determine if COCs are appropriate for you.

Progesterone only pills (POPs)

Aka “the mini-pill.” There are two forms of this pill that are appropriate to use in breastfeeding moms and women with other contraindications to estrogen.
